Emer, Lover of Cuchulainn, 90mm scale miniature.
Emer was the daughter of Forgal the Wily a Fomorian King. Cuchulainn
sought her hand in marriage but she laughed at him and called him a beardless
boy and that he should come back to her when he had more deeds to his name.
Emer gave him a series of seemingly impossible tasks to complete before she
would accept him as husband and her father tries to get rid of Cuchulainn by
suggesting that he go to the fierce warrior woman Scathach on the Isle
of Skye knowing few survived such a venture. Cuchulainn of course goes and trains
on the Isle of Skye and becomes a skilled warrior and completes all the tasks
Emer set him. He returns and steals Emer from her father's stronghold killing
all the warriors that come after him.
