Smaug the golden, greatest of the Fire-Dragons with Bilbo the reluctant burglar, who crept nervously into the dragon’s lair. Smaug had become complacent considering himself invunerable. For the little Hobbit this was the greatest and most terrifying moment of his life: to talk to the Dragon, to learn his secret and to escape with his life!

Antique Finished works are first polished and then coated with a black undercoat and that is gently and skillfully rubbed off the highlights and left in the hollows of the statue giving it a strong relief finish that is truly breathtaking.
